She gets me every Friday.
Just when I think ‘how many digital patterns can I own?’ I cave in a buy another.
Check out Michelle’s shop, that’s an affiliate link by the way. It means I can buy a pattern or two each month.

I made jam!!!
Delicious, delicious raspberry jam.
It sure costs a small fortune to buy the raspberries for it! It was $50 for the flat, which should have been $60 but they were having a buy 5 get one free thing. BUT all those raspberries made about 25 jars of jam, so when you do the math $2 per jar of delicious home made jam isn’t too bad. It’s just like shopping at Costco, it costs a lot up front!
We also made some raspberry vinegar, it should be ready for salads in about a week. Yum!
That’s just a shameless, “gee my kid is cute” shot. He’s got all these little freckles splattered across his nose and cheeks and this funny little line on his nose that tans differently than the rest . . . super cute!
I made 2 big batches yesterday with the supervision/instruction of Grandma and the help of the kids. Today I’m going to finish off the pints that are left and whip up a batch on my own. Fingers crossed I can do it!
All these cool letter and word items were in the stash I snagged from school.
Just the packaging of these boxes is great. And the names in the sentence cards.
This Dolch set is really neat. Call me silly but I didn’t even realize that Dolch was an actual person, yes, says the teacher. The year on this little pamphlet that’s with the cards says ‘1941’. Crazy.
I’m giving the things I’m not going to put to use in crafts or projects to my Red Boot Barn friend so check out her store for some of these goodies, and a bunch of other neat stuff.

So I’m into week 7 of the Couch to 5K program.
Here’s a usual sort of pre-run photo.
This is usually me post run.
But I keep it up. Haven’t lost weight from it but shape is changing and I feel better and I can only assume it’ll help me keep up with these 2 busy boys I’ve got.
So you know what I’m counting?
The days of school that are left.
It’s down to 7 and a P.A Day.
I can’t wait.
Then the lazy life of creating, parks, beaches, reading, learning, and sharing begins!

I had a great day at the Toronto Etsy Street Team show on Saturday. I had sales, pill I wandered around, I spent the money I made from my sales on other vendors . . .all and all a great day!
I spent a silly amount on my new addiction, pretty nails. I bought a lot from these lovely ladies at Beyond the Nail.
I picked up some fun nail decals, clouds, anchors, and hearts and this Minty Twilight nail polish.
I also got another kind, with the same dots and stars combo but with much more vibrant colours, like black and green and lime green. So fun. I wore that to work today to brighten up my Monday. Then I changed them this evening to the Minty Twilight just to change it up for tomorrow!
Nail art, my new weakness.
I’ve decided to try making my own clothes again!
I’ve only made a shirt and some skirts (one, two) so far. The shirt was a disaster, hence the lack of proof about it’s existence. I tackled this pattern but I think, while I picked the size listed for my measurements at the time, I should have made a size smaller. I made view A but it was icky once done. So not flattering for me. And somehow the neck hole part was much smaller than the shirt part . . . it didn’t go well.
The other day during a pattern sale at Fabricland I went a little crazy and picked these ones up.
Its the pink one at the bottom in the middle that got me on that pattern.
I doubt why these dresses are awesome needs an explanation!
I also picked up a skirt pattern that I can’t seem to find the picture for right now. I tried to photograph them this afternoon but it was a really grey day here and my camera battery was dead.
I still have some Lisette patterns I’ve been dying to try. I think as school winds up and I have more free time to create I’m going to be fleshing out my wardrobe with some handmade creations. Which is good because after losing 55 pounds I’ve been purging my closet a whole lot!
Ok I’m sooo ready for this.
I think I’m so ready that I’ll play twice.
Fine print –
– scraps must measure at least 2 inches by 2 inches, there is no maximum size but it is supposed to help you destash your scrap bin so sending fat quarters probably won’t help with that.
– scraps must be unwashed, clean, and in usable condition
– fabrics should be of relatively the same weight, cottons/linens/light canvas so allow for quilting or use in the same project
– be able to send 10-ish ounces to your partner mailed by May 27th
Leave a comment with your blog or email and I will match us up on Monday May 20th and send an email to you and your swap buddy.
Ok, it’s been packaging and picking time around here for the last little bit so I’m going to announce everyone at the same time!

This is a great video about those of us who dream and strive to be creative. It’s full of brilliant inspirational quotes and I love that my cup cozy appears after the statement “Don’t say that it’s impossible and there’s no budget for glitter” (look at 1:25, don’t blink)
Click the link, not the video screen shot. I don’t know how to embed, that’s all fancy pants like!
